looks like we know how to draw after all !

As James Russell Lowell an American poet and critic once said : “Creativity is not the finding of a thing, but  making something out of it after it is found.” That message was conveyed to us, geekettes ,by the illustrator Nadine Feghaly .

By the 3rd day of camp we were all super excited because our program included : illustration,  video editing, mobile technology, photo editing, Ontornet, & social networking. Our first session was illustration and Nadine taught us a lot of useful things, one of them was that you should not underestimate yourself and even if you are not very talented, any idea that has an importance in your point of view could be evolved into something of importance to the world whatever it’s topic is.

And at the end we got Nadine’s illustrated post cards (yeayy) that are part of the Lebaneez Calendar 2011 (A collaboration of 12 artists illustrating their favorite Lebanese saying).

Girl Geek Camp

As Andrew Heller once said :”Technology is like a fish. The longer it stays on the shelf, the less desirable it becomes.” Therefore, the longer an individual’s knowledge stays the same for a long period of time, the less it has the chance to change and improve in the future.

By the second day of Girl Geek Camp, a camp organized by “Take Back the Tech” for all Lebanese  girls between the ages of 15 and 18 years old, we had learned a lot about blogging, writing and expressing ourselves using a blog and using social networks like Facebook and Twitter to spread useful information.

In the next few days experts will be teaching us  about filming a video on a camera or mobile phone, editing it, and uploading it to YouTube, taking great photographs and many more.
